After graduating as an animator and job hunting for 3 years, Roxy realized the strengths of not fitting into the illustration industry as it was. This was by no means a defeat, but an opportunity to build a community void of cliques. Roxycreated Brut Magazine in 2015 as an excuse to interview artists. Collecting inspiring artists, both established and upcoming, a platform emerged. After 5 digital issues, Brut Magazine went to print in 2017. The first issue sold out in days. Now Brut Magazine is known for new and fresh lowbrow art - digital and traditional - and still maintains the values of welcoming artists from all worlds.
